CARDINAL COCCOPALMERIO'S PERSONAL SECRETARY ARRESTED IN POLICE RAID

Vatican police raided a drug-fueled gay-sex party at an apartment belonging to an aide of one of Pope Francis’ key advisers, according to a report filed in the Italian press
.
The Holy Father is said to be "enraged,” especially since the residence, inhabited by Francesco Cardinal Coccopalmerio’s personal secretary, Monsignor  Luigi Capozzi, belongs to the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith (CDF)— the Dicastery of the Roman Curia that has been charged with investigation incidences of Clerical sex abuse.

Responding to complaints of tenants within the apartment complex, the Swiss Guard raided the apartment in late June.  Neighbors had complained about multiple people acting strangely while streaming in and out of the residence.

Official reports state that multiple men were engaged in rampant drug use and homosexual activity.

After taking him to a clinic to detox from the drugs he had ingested, police arrested Monsignor Capozzi.

The apartment building is the same place where Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger lived for about 25 years before becoming Pope Benedict XVI.  It was described as “a perfect location to enjoy the extraterritorial rights of the Vatican without having to undergo neither the checks of the Italian State nor those of the Vatican City.”

Coccopalmerio had recommended the Secretary for a promotion to Bishop.  An Italian newspaper is quoted:  "Someone stopped this appointment before it was too late.”

The scandal comes just a week after Cardinal Pell was charged with multiple counts of historical sexual assault offenses by Australian police.  The Cardinal, who served as Pope Francis’ chief financial adviser and is Australia’s most senior Catholic, is the highest-ranking Vatican official ever to be charged in the church’s sexual- abuse scandals.

Sources within the Vatican have told RAI, the state-run Italian TV network, that Pope Francis very soon will ask for the resignation of Cardinal Coccopalmerio from his position as Secretary of the CDF.

The wounds being inflicted upon the Church by homosexual Priests and Clerics are crippling the Church.  Still, the Holy Father himself as well as the majority of the Catholic hierarchy will not confront the reality of this psychological disorder and condemn the lifestyle for what it is:  a perversion of both the Natural Law and the sanctity of conjugal love in marriage.

Once again, Cardinal Coccopalmeri's name is attached to a scandal involving the homosexual behavior of a Priest in the service of the CDF.  In this case, it is the Cardinal's personal secretary.  A year ago, it was a Priest accused of the sexual abuse of minors whom the Cardinal defended and on whose behalf he interceded to the Pope to rescind the imposition of laicization.  This same Priest was laicized this year for repeating his crimes of abuse.

What is going on at the CDF?  The very Dicastery charged with investigations into the homosexual abuse of minors appears to be rampant with the presence of homosexual clerics.

The Catholic faithful are owed an explanation and assurance that these scandals will be aggressively investigated and judgments against the perpetrators will be proportionate to the crimes they have committed and the scandal they have caused.

Until such a time, the credibility of Pope Francis and the Church itself will continue to rightly earn the scepticism and scorn they deserve.
